The Cardiaid AED The Cardiaid Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is an easy to use device specially designed for public access use, to provide life-saving electroshock (defibrillation) treatment for a person experiencing cardiac arrest.
It is estimated that 140,000 people die of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) each year. An SCA can happen to anyone at any age, but 80% of SCAs are linked to previous heart disease
The only effective treatment for SCA is defibrillation.
Because the chance of survival decreases at a rate of about 10% every minute without defibrillation, the Cardiaid AED was developed to allow a bystander or first aider with the most basic knowledge of CPR techniques to provide early defibrillation in a casualty situation before emergency services are able to attend
It is exceptionally easy to use, Cardiaid guides the user through the correct ILCOR 2005 resuscitation procedure.
The instructions are clear and have an optimum combination of content and duration, enabling CardiAid to be time-efficient and simple to use in the case of an emergency. The user is only required to follow simple instructions, the device makes all diagnosis and decisions as to whether the casualty should be defibrillated or not.
